Programs & Activities
At The Cottages, Activities Are A Part Of LifeActivities at The Cottages include physical activity that is appropriate for those living with memory impairment and dementia, as well as stimulating activities and relaxation. We have Alzheimer’s Certified Activity Directors on staff and all programs are customized for each resident. When it is time for an activity, our activity directors will encourage all resident to attend and participate.
Our activities schedule helps maintain a routine for our residents and is designed for a variety of needs:
- Morning activities are designed to wake up residents and get them moving to start their day.
- Mid-day activities focus on more interest-specific activities, specializing in a specific subject that varies. Often times an outside expert will come to The Cottages to share about a topic of interest.
- Afternoon activities are geared to memory recall and hand/eye coordination.
- In order to foster relaxation and to wind-down peacefully, we have a range of activities designed for the late afternoon.
We offer hydration throughout the day and during set times mid-morning and afternoon. We have religious services in-house throughout the week. A monthly calendar is available with specific times and schedules. Families are welcome to join us at anytime!
